Thanh Ha 2

120 Victoria Street, Richmond

As one of the biggest and longest standing hubs of Melbourne's Vienamese community, Richmond is a goldmine for those looking to enjoy the diverse and strong flavours of traditional Vietnamese cuisine. Thanh Ha 2 is a long standing restaurant on the iconic Victoria Street and has been a restaurant that I have been visiting since I was young.

Bánh cuốn specialist

Clean and large space

Bánh cuốn tôm thịt (Steamed rice paper cake with pork and prawn) $12.50

Cơm Tấm bì Sườn Chả Trứng (Broken rice with the lot) $11.00

Bún bò Huế $11.50

I personally ordered the Bánh cuốn tôm thịt for myself but I also tried some of the other dishes. The food was cooked and seasoned well, but most importantly all of the flavours were authentic and tasted like traditional Vietnamese cuisine, something that is getting harder to find with all of the newer restaurants popping up.

For a restaurant to be open for so many years and still remain popular is quite a difficult task. For Thanh Ha 2, the combination of traditional food and flavours combined with the cheap prices of the food has given them a loyal customer base and will most likely keep the restaurant around for some time to come.
